Suicide Girls

I spent a day with selected girls from the well-known internet based network called Suicide Girls. They had auditioned to become dancers for the Suicide Girls Burlesque show that would take place at the club Knitting Factory in Los Angeles the same evening, with the goal to attract new members. Suicide Girls is an erotic website and social network that presents images of ordinary girls who pose as pin-ups. The idea is to revolt against

the current ideas of beauty by exposing sexy images of girls with looks other than the blondie with silicon implants. In the beginning this was a social network where girls felt in control over the making and presentation of their images. Later it became criticized for being yet another company making money from women's bodies and many of the girls in this story actually left Suicide Girls in protest.
